Ok, after last week's 100 megaton photo bomb drop, I think it's safe to come out of the bunker and get caught up.
BTW, those "Deff Dread" selfies just cracked me up. However, for next year, I will award extra points for Deff Dread photo bombs.

Regarding our campaign thread, Assault on Pathos IV, we are still scheduled for a 4/11 effort to get Pt. II unleashed...except that last week, one of the team was informed that they were going to be scheduled out of town that day.
Then they weren't.
So we're still on unless we aren't.
So we're still on unless we aren't.
To that end, Jefe and I were going to get together and have a 3500 point game using just our forces as sort of a prequel to Part II, but then our local stores were loaded up with games and weren't going to be able to release tables until too late.
People playing games at the games store. Go figure.
In the meantime, I'm painting away trying to scrape together my last few hundreds of points of stuff to meet my commitment for game day.
So I've put together a couple of squads of Dire Avengers

"Uh, Honda, those look like...Dark Eldar"
"They are Dire Avengers"
"But they look like a bunch of the old Dark Eldar"
Honda waves hand in front of the screen, "They are Dire Avengers"
"Oh, nice looking Avengers you have there"

As the point level of our games escalated, I perceived a need to get a couple of cheap objective sitters as leaving a squad of Wraithguard way in the back where they won't be able to do anything, seems like a real inefficient way to spend points. I still need to finish their bases and redo their eyes.
So Dire Avengers.
Also, I got three of these off of eBay for pretty cheap, but they weren't glued together very well, so I broke them apart where I could and then attempted to put Humpty back together again. I was sort of successful.

In any case, they can be a small, mobile, objective grabbing unit to flit around and avoid the heat until necessary.
I used magnets on the models and the bases for easier transport. One thing I've noticed that's kind of annoying, is that with all the spiky bits and edges on DE, their stuff sure snags on transport material and whatever else is within two meters of where you place them. They also draw blood fairly easily as well.
Life imitating art?
I think that's it for this week and barring any more sightseeing adventures by the boss, we should get back to our regularly scheduled programming. To be honest the prior week was pretty active, so I didn't mind seeing all the cool looking pics one bit.
Cheers,
