I'm dying... The last 3 weeks have been pretty hectic. I had to plan out the session for our DnD group, Drunkin & Draggin. I had a few things I wanted to tie into their current campaign outside of the actual campaign as written. So that required a bunch of research and to research more about the backstory of the campaign and characters. Also, I have been obviously been keeping up with the comics. The issue is that I've had some long work days where I haven't had any down time to get in a bit of drawing or research time. So I've had to do all that stuff after hours (like a normal person). Also, new rules for 40k were leaked, so I've been researching all that, and preparing army lists as Greggles and I decided to do a trial run of the rules that were leaked (and had a ton of fun!). Also, with awesomecon being this weekend, I decided I needed to finally finish my chirrut cosplay so I've been putting in tons of hours into that. It was a lot more complex than I had thought, and every time I go back to working on it, I find better reference material and find that it is even MORE complex than the last time I had thought it was more complex. It doesn't help, that I lost track of the materials and fabric since the last time I worked on it. Also, as it turns out, I lost or tossed a box of cosplay materials and tools when I moved. I just learned that tonight. THANK GOODNESS FOR AMAZON NOW!!!! I learned of the issue at 9:30pm... it was just delivered (it is 11:40pm). Now I guess I'm doing an all nighter. I'm gonna look like death tomorrow..

Meetings get cancelled all the time. Most times, they are cancelled last minute. Unfortunately, when this happens others inevitably find out, and then try to insert other meetings in their stead. Usually it isn't too bad. These days most meetings are via conference calls. So when you get an invite to a meeting that requires you in person, I've watched people be very off put and surprised. Half the time, the requester has no idea what the attendee has going on or where they are. This is probably a product of the area and not necessarily the general norm. The worst part of it while being in DC is that getting around the city isn't always the smoothest of adventures (okay, most times it is a crap shoot where you crap out more often than not). Many events and meetings are delayed due to people not being able to get to the location in a predictable manner.
So I was having trouble thinking of a new comic idea earlier this week. I was a bit stressed about it since I had a pretty full week of work and wasn't going to have as much time as I usually do to draw or just spitball ideas. I guess my sleepy-self recognized this. On Tuesday I had a dream where I actually came up with a good comic. I envisioned all the panels and the scripted lines! I didn't realize it was a dream though. When I woke up I still remembered it and was really excited. I was going to start putting it down, but instead started making breakfast. Needless to say, I started forgetting it. I remembered the art, and the punchline, but I couldn't remember the setup and nothing was making sense. I got so frustrated. Then, I woke up. I was still frustrated that I couldn't remember the dream cause in my dream I thought it was really funny! So I continued to try to remember it. I just could not figure out what led to the punchline. Worse, the panel art was starting fade from memory. I tried to really quick sketch before it all faded but it was fading fast. Then I woke up... Now, I could remember the middle panel and last panel art, but now all the text was forgotten. I got pissed. Then I woke up again and was just angry.
When people try to get you to do stuff and play it off as something fantastic. It can be comical. I recently had someone offer me something that caused me to immediately start laughing. Fortunately it wasn't in person so I had time to compose myself before responding.
Kinda crazy how quickly this ransomware problem propagated and then quickly died. It was amazing seeing how quickly it decimated a number of big systems and spread throughout the world. Also crazy that all it took was someone registering and establishing a domain to resolve it. What was more astonishing was seeing how many these large institutes admitted to running on XP still and not updating at all for so long! I wonder if this will make companies, hospitals and schools suddenly upgrade versus being happy they dodged that bullet.
For over 2 years, I've had friends who have tried to get me to play MOBAs. I tried once or twice with League of Legends, and I knew right away it wasn't a game for me. I am what people call "a feeder". I just don't have a feel for the game type and it doesn't really interest me. A wide variety of friends have attempted to get me to play many times in various MOBA formats and I've always passed. I know I'm not good at them, and I know I don't have fun and get embarrassed and then bitter. I know people get annoyed and frustrated with me too. I don't know the terminology or strategies. People assume I do or will pick it up, but it just doesn't click for me. So, I end up eventually wandering off or doing something detrimental unintentionally. This then leads to pissing off everyone else I'm playing with and me wanting to disappear and avoid talking to anyone for a few days. It absolutely sucks and so I have sworn off ever playing them. That is til Blizzard made a D.Va skin only available if you play some games of Heroes of the Storm which is a game a bunch of friends have been playing for a long time, and i refused to touch. I've gotten my required games in, and now I will uninstall it....
We have a friend who is obsessed with korean bbq. Loves it like no man has loved a woman or any person has loved another person. We constantly disappoint him when he asks if anyone wants to go get some (to be fair, it is usually last min). He keeps saying that he needs to find people who he could just find randomly to go with him and that there should be an app for it like there is for everything else. Boom, someone just made millions (I get a percentage!) for that app idea.
Allergies have been wrecking people lately. It sucked for like a week for me, then it was alright. The out of the blue the other day it hit me hard. Since that day, I've been better and haven't had to take allergy meds again. But, that day was brutal. Why can't trees ask consent before spewing their loads all up in me?
Fast and the Furious 8 released! Go watch it! It is just straight fun. It isn't as chaotic and ridiculous as some of the recent ones. Now, don't get me wrong, it still has some ludacris (baadaaadum!) moments, but it isn't a constant bombardment of explosions and stuff. I've seen every fast and furious movie opening night. It is one of my favorite franchises because they just make me smile and are fun. I still miss Paul Walker but Vin is doing it right and I'm glad I can continue this tradition.
I've been learning (okay, reading) about things that can be done in the game of Rain World. My skepticism is strong. Why does everyone want to watch my fail?
