Hey Everyone! Sorry for my lack of posting. I was pretty lazy the last few weeks and didn't have much to show. I don't like posting empty blog posts if I can avoid it. But that is all in the past now, because I just bought 40 ork boyz. I know there is only 20 here, but the rest are coming. The plan is to run 30 shoota boyz and 30 choppa boyz alongside the walkers in the new edition. Going to vary up the list a bit...especially because the walkers are RIDICULOUS now, and I don't want everyone to hate me :)

Welcome my friends! My post is a bit early this week, as I am off to Adepticon to spend time looking at and enjoying all the miniatures! I haven't been slacking off though, and have been painting up a storm! First off, finally made a jaw up that I liked for the grot knight! Transferred the claw over from the ork knight, and packed him up to show off at adepticon (maybe with some queen bee face off shots!)
This is the event you were all waiting for. A call goes out for the last battle of the narrative. Greggles throws down his army for the comm relay mission. Dave steps up for a rematch. Would the game be a blow out like before with the orks barely holding on? Or would gork and mork smile favorably upon the great walkers!!! The orks have an ace up their sleeve this game. Such is the orks excitement, their first recon photos show up blurry! And what is this? A wraithknight on their lines? (I had my ork knight in the capital palette painting comp, and didn't have time to pick it up before this game, so Todd allowed me use of his wraithknight as a proxy!)
Welcome back! Continuing my Monday battle reports with another lost battle. This time featuring my first outing vs the mechanium, with double knight support. This is gonna be a bruiser! Don't you love that most of the armies I'm facing also include giant robots? This is by design! Everyone wanted robot on robot action!
Greetings my friends! Welcome back! Today's battle report is a very short one. I had a lovely opponent (who I can't find his name right now), who bartaked with me in great cups of wine during our game. As such, I stopped taking photos at one point, because I was completely blasted drunk. Narrative nightfight is such a great time! Once again, I was playing with the great ork walkers, and my opponent was facing me with an all biker white scar army! 3+ jinks, obj secured (whole army), 12 inch movement, and hit n run (my bane).
Do you like walkers exploding en masse? Screams of poor grots who only wanted to help weed the taus garden? Then you are going to love this post! Today I revisit the battle between the all suit Tau army (Dave's), and the all walker army, Greggles. So who thinks Walkers are better then MC's? :)
Welcome my friends! I found my Nova open photos of the battle reports (well not really battle reports, since I was drunk, but more battle photos). Here is the first of the matchups the latest iteration of trust in rust faced!
Welcome everyone! Hope you enjoyed the army photos! Today I'm going to be talking about all the sudden and rapid work I did at the very last second for the Trust in Rust Dread mob. Though I spent months working on the charity and knight projects, at the very end, I painted nearly twenty hours straight to bring the mob into line with one another, including during Trios!
Welcome one and all! After 30+ hours of painting, I have finished the Mork and Gork knights. One based off a close combat renegade knight, piloted by an Ork, and one covered in guns, piloting by a crew of grots and their squig. Hope you like them! I'll start off first with the finished pieces, like imgur and reddit do!
Welcome my friends! This week is all about the knights, with a bit of Nova auction fun at the end! Grab your grots and scrap and lets dive right in! Last bits of conversions since we last talked. Someone mentioned the lame imperial exhausts and said I should stompa it up. Well stompa exhausts were expensive...but guess what wasn't expensive...the khorne lord of war super tank choppy extravangza exhausts. Got eight for 3 or 4 dollars. They worked really well to add some height and break up the knighty look. I also fashioned a missile launcher from a taurox kit, and some ork rokkits (it'll show up later in the blog with more pieces). It fit perfectly in the space!
Today is a wonderful day! The Deff Dread is complete. I had to get him to the charity, so had to pick and choose the final hours to spend on him. I concentrated on increasing contrast through panel lines and washes, powders, and metallics. Then went back and had a bit of fun with some different effects...finishing with making sure everything was secured down. I hope you all like him! Remember you can have him for your very own by purchasing a raffle ticket at Nova Open! (all proceeds go to doctors without borders!)
Thanks to the viewership of the blog, (and their constant support), I was able to get many hours of work into the Charity Deff Dread this weekend. It's now only a few hours from being complete. (need to paint some cables, wires, matte spray, then some chip highlights with air steel). I'm so happy with how the dread looks now, as the layers of enamel streaks and washes have pulled out so much texture and detail, that it broke up that monotone bland yellow I had going on. Now it is propa greggles weathered! Here are some shots. (quick update). Will have finished shots/closeups and the knights on thursday! Note: Black section on the back is primer, as i rubbed it off of the metal hose by accident when doing the chipping part. It's just going to be standard belcher + highlight + wash + highlight. I did want to do a lot more things, but I got politely yelled at that they have to have it this week, so it ships out Thursday morning. (which only gives me a scattering of hours longer to work on it). Thanks for stopping by everyone! Hope you like it! Welcome back! Another Orky Knight update for you all! This week I finalized almost all of the armor plates (except the torso plates), and started to work on the drivers of the knights. Here is the basic final layout of the knight plates. The shin plates are from the mek gun kits. The thigh plates are from the engine cowls from the dakka jets, and the shoulder plates are from the stompa head. The groin plate is a cut up front armor plate which just had a perfect curve.
Hey everyone. Another short update for you all. Lots of house and wedding stuff going on, so hobby time is limited. On a happy note, we now have a toilet working in the powder room again. Yay! After quite a bit of cutting and sawing, I was able to convert one of the stompa's guns to work with the knight. Still have to fill that gap with some green stuff, but I'm pretty happy with it overall!
Quick weekend update for you all! I had a very productive weekend in terms of both house work and hobby work. Got an entire bathroom repainted (including the taping and painting of all the trim), cut up an imperial knight, painted bases for said knights, and ten shoota boyz. Transferred and cut up the old boyz bases and got them onto the new ones. Few! It's what you have been waiting for! Did the torso chopping work? Well I'm happy to say it did! My theory on the line being a good grab point for the saw was spot on. It was relatively easy (though time consuming) to cut down across the line.
