Foldio Review
The foldio is a portable lightbox, created by Orange Monkey. It was specifically designed to enable individuals to take product photos with their cell phones on the go, by providing a portable, and diffuse light box. I recently asked for one as a gift, and got it for my birthday, so you get a review! Starting out, this product sure has a nice box!
Inside the box is the Foldio, a carrying case, and three foam backdrops (black, grey, and white), as well as an LED lightstrip (or two if you got the upgrade).
The foldio is pretty small, and folds neatly into the bag.
The foldio itself is made of a durable plastic, and has a group of magnets which enable the various sections to lock into place (as well as the 9v batteries!).
You spread the Foldio out like this, insert the foam backdrop you'd like to use (make sure your light strips are secure), then you close the snaps based on how the magnets line up!
Now you just have to hook up some 9v batteries, put your model in, and take some great photos!
So far I'm extremely impressed with the output this little box can handle. It really brings out the details in the model. If you are lucky enough to have a turntable, you can do all sorts of cool things, like 360 degree spins!
I hope you enjoyed this little review. From this point on, you'll see constant examples of the lightbox in action. If you'd like another review (for comparison), please check out Roemers Review.
