Mekanika Studio Spectrum Paint Rack Review
Awhile ago I was looking for some paint racks. I've collected quite the # of pots over the years, and I spent entirely too much time sorting through them everytime I'm painting. I looked around at a few different companies, but was having trouble finding a rack which held an enormous amount of paint.
I stumbled upon Mekanika Studio, and saw they not only had a rack which held 50 pots, but it came in a semi finished black (as opposed to the standard MDF). I placed an order with my own monies (self purchased item, not sponsored), and awaited it's arrival!
The package arrived nicely bundled and protected. I tore into it with a tiny chainsword.
Initial impressions were very favorable. So pretty!
Laying out the pieces. I ordered two sets, as each one holds roughly 50 pots + accessories. I figured I had about 75 misc pots, so ordering more then I needed was probably a good idea. I collect paint like I collect miniatures.
The studio provides an easy to follow pdf instruction set when you order. I pulled it up on my servitor, and went to work. You use super glue to piece the sections together, and each section is very thick and sturdy. Everything fits nicely together.
The instructions are pretty easy to follow, just make sure to read ahead and not blindly glue. The positioning of the center leg/stand is important. If you glue without checking, you'll block one of the pot locations and feel bad about yourself.
Gluing away. Can't wait to get my pots in here! There isn't too much to say here. You'll see a bit of cork get glued on the right side. That's to let you use your drills and knifes in the accessory slots, and not muck up the wood (and helps keep them in place).
With only two trays left, I quickly glue them together, wait about 15 minutes, then start filling them with pots. I should note that I filled the entire thing with pots THEN moved it to my hobby table. I'd suggest moving it, then filling it with pots. The reason I did this? My hobby bench was covered in 50 pots, and I needed to move the pots to make room for the thing that held the pots. :)
So happy now! Now I just need to assemble the other one, and I can finally be a bit better organized. (Next up is a new light!)

Some short notes.
This paint rack will only work for pots which are "round" in shape. The old hexagon style GW pots won't fit. Generally most of us won't have those anymore, but just in case you do, this is not the solution for that.
The paint rack is very large. Its 18.5 x 12. (It does hold 50 pots + other things). Keep that in mind!
The material is soft, and if you aren't careful, you can scratch it. So be careful when assembling it. It is very sturdy, just susceptible to scratching.
Mekanika studio also sells this section with ends, if you are looking for an even more diverse solution. Check them out here if you are interested!

I don't really give stars, or ratings in my reviews. Just an overall feel and photos to help others come to a decision. I'm quite happy with my purchase, and just wanted to share it all with you guys!
