BROFORCE!

Best "instant smile on your face" Game: Broforce.
Sometimes the games that you enjoy the most are the ones that you just stumble upon with no preconceived notions whatsoever.

That game was the side-scrolling Broforce for me. Brought to us by the indy game company Free Lives out of South Africa, this game will have you screaming 'Merica! while destroying the evil terrorist in no time. The art of the game is in the "bit" style but does not take away from the gameplay due to the constant action and an environment where nearly everything can be destroyed or exploded in a spray of pixels. The premise is simple, take all of the major action hero movie characters and unleash them in a fury of liberty upon the evil that would take our freedom away from us. While that might sound overpowered, Broforce was made in the vein of the old classics like Contra where the 1 hit = 1 death. This isn't your current day "everyone gets a protective bubble" game by any means.

You can play such characters as Bronan the Brobarian, Rambro and Ash Brolliams with the list continuing to grow as more content is added each month. Each character has their own signature main weapon and special. My favorite has to be McBrover's dynamite stuffed turkey that lures the enemies closer before a delivering a delicious explosion of death. With the hype-train running full bore, they have recently been Green Lighted over at Steam where you can currently pickup the Early Access for $14.99. You can play the beta via browser game style or you can download the standalone version to your PC free of charge. The pay version lets you play four player online multiplayer while the free beta only allows local co-op. Honestly though, words don't do this game justice, so watch the latest trailer that they have released...bro:
