Day 4
We went in on the final day and tried the blizzard booth one more time only to find yet again a long line. We were some of the first few people in so that was a bit confusing. Also they had even shortened it for some reason... Instead of waiting our last few hours in line we decided to check out the Indie booths for the day.
This was by far my favorite part of Pax and Im happy things worked out this way. I wish we had started earlier in our trip because I had a ton of fun going through and trying all of these.

We started at Guacamelee and basically went through everything. I wish we had more time per booth but around the end we were sorta breezing through and some of the titles looked really really good. Besides two booths I think every developer I talked to was very excited about their product and answered all my questions. I got a few steam keys and some discounts as well which was sweet. I think I bought two games straight up through my steam app and have several on my wish list.
Most people were pretty good about playing and moving along after the demo was done but there were a few that decided to.. linger.... even after the demo was cleary over.. and just wander around in the game for no reason.. I actually get nervous when people are watching me play thinking Im taking too long when sometimes I don't take enough time to figure a game out haha.
There were a few games that were already out which was alright but I really liked trying out the games that weren't out yet. I also liked that some of the games were from over the pond. There was a good mix but I noticed there was a lot... A LOT of 8bit styled games. While we all get nostalgic over these and they can be fun it seems a little over kill to me personally. Though at the same time I also argue with myself that maybe the person just wants to tell a really great story? I guess it depends..
As mentioned earlier I will go over some specific games in the next post!
Update: I got a couple emails from different projects asking for feedback which was a surprise. I hope what i said in my replies helped them out!
From there we ended up just checking out a few booths on our way out. Signed up for a few give aways and I spun a wheel and won a tiny tool kit for our computers! We also stopped and took an action shot just to get some cool bandannas from Age of Mythology.

We met up at the bar with everyone and said our goodbyes.
If you are wondering when you check out of a hotel you can check your bags at the front for them to hold till you are ready. The lady also walked outside with us to show us where we could get on the T-line again.
Going back to the airport does cost money so just make sure you know how much. It was $2.50 for us from the Renaissance.
Update (4.24.14) - So apparently Greggles and Shantz took the same T-bus and they didn't have to pay for their ride. You can actually just hop on the bus and ride to the airport.. no fee. The person at the hotel told us differently and the bus driver who picked us up just watched us put money in without saying anything. A little bitter about this. Yes it's only $5 we spent but if we get ripped off, we get ripped off and Arwyn doesn't like that. Next year remember it's free to and from the airport at that trade center bus stop! Silver line! Don't get ripped off! *shakes a mighty fist*

Pleasantly the restaurant in the airport we ate at actually had gluten free hamburger buns so I went crazy over that. We had final drinks and dinner before we flew off. At the terminal we ran into some other pax goers and ended up being the rowdy crowed in the corner till they called us to board.
That night and the next day I didn't do anything. I picked up the dogs and that was it. I think I'm finally back to rested but it does knock it out of you.
All in all I think we had a pretty successful first time PAX! Would love to go again!
