Who doesn't love staff meetings where they make you play games and do forced ice breakers. When it is near the beginning of the day, before you have had coffee and have back to back meetings, it just makes it better. Who wouldn't want to participate?

Magfest was amazing. I played all the games, and listened to... well some of the music. A few of us got there on Thursday around 11. After that point, I was up til 4am almost every night except for friday where I was up until 3:30 (actually went up to the room at 1:30, but revenge of the nerds was on). It goes without saying, I am exhausted. We were basically on our feet from 9am-4am each day, minus the times I got to sit while playing Initial D. I'm absolutely going to bed early today and most likely the next few days in a row. I had no interest in getting up this morning to go to work. It was worse when as soon as I got into the office, I received news I could have slept in a bit. The bitter and anger was real.
Happy Magfest weekend! Most of us from FYN are most likely drinking, drunk, or hungover at the time of reading this (if it is sometime between Feb 18-21). In prep for this convention, I actually started on 5 different cosplays. I finished 2. 1 which I feel "meh" about it. It would have been tolerable/decent when together with a group. Doing it single made no sense, and the craftsmanship was mediocre at best, even for me. The other one, I miscalculated the amount of fabric needed and had to order more. But once again, I had shipping issues and it didn't arrive until weds night (the night before Magfest, and pulling an all nighter wouldn't have been enough time (especially since I was working on this comic). The third cosplay I could have done, but this too works as an ensemble of cosplayers thus i stopped before getting to the detailing. The last was my jedi. I have to do the under tunic. It is currently 5 mins til midnight and I am still tempted to do this but I doubt I will. I'm already tired.... guess I'll wait and see how this plays out
Recently it has come to our attention that final fantasy 9 is being released on mobile platforms. This was the first game that I have ever bought and immediately marathoned start to finish and tried to find every nook and cranny. I beat other games before, but until this game, I had never played a game daily without dabbling in another game or putting it down for a while. Final fantasy 7 I took a huge break in the middle of playing. and I never beat 8 because every time I bought it, I would run into a problem and it would stop working. Before those, I always would just take breaks to play something else. I still look back fondly at the game, and I look forward to beating it all over again. probably neglecting something else... like my health.
Greggles is hooked on XCOM 2 currently. A few of us others are behind the times and have just started playing XCOM Enemy Unknown. Everyone said it was good. I now know it is. The fun part is creating yuor characters based on yuor friends. I even try to make em look like them. Greggles plays and tries to keep everyone alive and reloads when they die. I decided unless my team was going to wipe or basically get down to 1 person, I will not reload. This has left a trail of dead friends on my path to learning more about the aliens. Farewell friends. I am sorry you got sniped on turn 1 and didn't get to do anything.
I had big plans for last Saturday. I had gotten snow tires and wheels from Greggles the other week. Snow is supposed to be hitting us today (I pre-wrote this post). I figured it would be good to put them on since I had a day with nothing planned for the day. I also found I had a blown low beam headlight so I had picked up a bulb last week and just never got around to putting it in. On top of that, I was behind on my oil change. I had decided if I had to jack the car up, might as well do it all at once. I also, forgot that my cigarette lighter fuse was blown so I would swap that out. The only thing I was able to manage successfully was the headlight, and that took me about 15 mins longer than it should have. The wheels went on, but I couldn't get the lug nuts tightened properly. The place that did my oil change last over torqued everything, and didn't bother to replace the drain plug or washer. I therefore spent forever trying to pry them off to no avail. The fuse, I bought was a low blade, and it wasn't what was needed. It was a tragedy of errors... But by the time the super bowl started on sunday, They were finally done!
Greggles and I do a lot of "your face ____" burns. Usually it is me doing them to him. There are some rare occasions where I am not thinking and I set him up for a fantastic burn. I do not like it when I'm on the receiving end..
X-Files is back on the air. Every time I hear that theme song I an instantly transported to 1993. I get the chills. It is the same feeling as when I watched The Force Awakens and the beginning fanfare starts up.
Now on a serious note today (Monday) was the anniversary of Monty Oum Passing away. I got to meet him a few times, and he was a great guy. He has inspired me as well as many other people to be who they are and to constantly strive to create and improve. Every strip I do, it is with that intention. There is currently a hashtag #montyoumproject where people are sharing their efforts to live in that way. everyone, please live life, create, explore, grow. |
