So Aegis and I are playing Shadows of Mordor. I started a while ago, and just got busy working on stuff and haven't touched it in a while. The other day, I decided to get back into it. I really like the game. It has enough story for me, and enough stuff happening to keep me entertained. The fact that the game punishes you (not nearly as badly as Dark Souls) and there is all this stuff happening in the background of the game. Aegis, recently beat Dragon Age: Inquisition. Afterwards he was looking for another game, and since I've been talking up Shadows, he got it as well. I didn't even know he did, until I heard something from the living room that sounded familiar, and realized he was playing as well. We both had/have time off for the holidays so we marathon gamed. After a few hours (plus the 6 hours I've played previously), I killed about 17 captains and had finished a bunch of side missions and "runes". Meanwhile, Aegis apparently had fought some guys, did some stuff, and then went through the storylines and progressed to sections I didn't even know existed. By the end of the day, I had made my weapons legends, and killed nearly 30 captains. The next day, Aegis was on a whole different world section doing things I only wished I could, meanwhile, I'm still putzing around clearing out the first map. The same thing happened when I first tried out the game at my friend's place. When he got stuck on a section or captain, we would swap and I would blast through it, and vice versus. Same with board games. It amuses me to see how people's style of playing games are different.

I have to confess. I'm not a user of the phrase "thanks Obama". I will not get into a political discussion. I just wanted to preface this post by saying that. I will say, I do thank him for the fact that I do not have to go to work today. Although I am basically being forced to use a vacation day, I am still thankful. If he hadn't given the feds the day off, I probably would have ended up having to work. Well, not had to. I would have been able to use a vacation day regardless. For me, I usually am willing to go in and work if we are "open for business". I don't understand people who complain about working (mostly people in my field). I have one of the best careers ever. Aegis, has been playing Dragon age all week. He actually just beat the story line. So while he has been playing, i've been working on the comic. I have neglected my own gaming though. I still have Shadows of Mordor to beat and some other stuff to play. Instead of playing, I've just been watching him play on the main tv. I have my own sweet setup in my room, just haven't been playing. so having a day where I have NOTHING to do like today (as long as xbox live is back up), I can dedicate to my own gaming. so, thanks Obama.
So in the 40k universe, Orks are amazing creatures. If they think something, it becomes true. If they think a gun will work, it does. One of their abilities is that if they have or get a vehicle, and it is Red, It suddenly goes much faster than it should, just cause they think Red things go faster. Kinda like the joke about ricer cars with custom paint jobs with racing stripes or decals. Orks are the guys in fast and the furious, cept for them Red means go!
It is the holiday season and all the gift buying and exchanging is in full swing. Everyday people are bombarded with emails from various companies touting the best and greatest sales for all the needs and wants you could fill for other people. Some people love getting gits for others. Some do not. I actually do enjoy giving out gifts, so all those emails are tantalizingng and oh so tempting. They show me tings that my friends may enjoy, or what I didn't even know existed or could want. Each morning makes me wonder what gifts will I be giving and to who.
The other day, I noticed a few people whining online that they were out of wine and/or other drinks and foods. It made me laugh when thinking about how sad those people were. Meanwhile, others of us were having long ass days...Things can always be worse. I try not to whine, at least not online. Maybe that is why I don't post stuff too often? hehe. Don't be a sad panda... be awesome instead. Also, this comic was just an excuse to draw cute things... and yes, spelling is intentional
Fantasy football is a thing. A thin that I have participated in for a while now. I have lost some, won some (mostly lost) and usually have fun. I don't really worry about the winning as much as the heckling. Animated GIF's are the best for that btw. Anyways, fantasy football actually doesn't really eat up a lot of time, but people assume it does. It only takes a few minutes of your day.
I hosted a White Elephant party over the weekend. Everyone decided it would also be an ugly sweater and/or frozen themed outfit party as well. I rocked a Star Wars themed sweater, and Aegis had a pretty pimp sweater as well. Not sure they qualified as ugly, as they were both pretty nice designs. Which made me think of other designs for sweaters that would be fun. Hence the comic was just an excuse to draw fun outfits... If you can't tell, Santa in Aegis's sweater is saying "NO NO NO NO"
So those of us at FYN (well most of us) play a little tapletop game called Warhammer 40K (if you couldn't tell). One of the great things about 40K is the fluff (novels, videogames, and backstories) of the universe that the game resides in. One of the cornerstones of said universe (if not THE cornerstone) revolves around the Space Marines. In the fluff, these are super badass soldiers with their enhancements, who can run into impossible odds and (some casualties) come out victorious. In the game, is a different story. This causes some bitter resentment with some of who play the generic Marines, or even the Ultramarines. Some bitter bitter, emo-causing resentment
For thanksgiving, I went to a friend's place and got to enjoy all the tasty grub. I have alreasy mentioned that at times, I forget to eat. This was not the case. I had two huge tray full helpings. I couldn't sit I ate so much. Needless to say, my stomach started giving me the grumbles. My buddy had just finished up some renovations at his place. A new decl, and repainted and done lighting in the bathroom. I was not bout to blowup his newly done bathroom. So I did what I had to, left... I am a good friend
