It is funny. I don't really get upset with those interactions. They are doing their jobs. Yes it is a little frustrating to me, that I go out of my way to explain everything with the hope that it will speed things up and not cause them to stop processing others and thus hold up all the other contractors and visitors. What really irks me is when security guards get cute. I'm cool with them being personable and friendly. I chit chat with some on occasion (Always keep them on your side. It can really pay off at times). However, when they just start asking personal questions for no reason and with no context is when I start to bubble up with true annoyance. They are now inconveniencing me as well as my clients just for their own sake. It is worse when people make assumptions.
I go to many places as an interpreter. This usually results in me having to interact with lots of security guards and officers. Some places I go to recognize me or the various badges and clearances I have and just do a check in. Other places are pretty typical of what you would experience at an Airport (bag scans, metal detectors). Other places can get pretty overzealous. Full metal scans, bag scans, and then bag inspections. Laptops and any other electronics out and inspected. Now, I have a powerbag by FuL. It has a built in battery pack to charge up my various electronics since I never know what to expect on any given day. Some days I burn through juice by 11am, other days I have no access at all to any gear. Now, the battery pack and wiring is nonremovable. I have traveled on airlines with this bag in the US and internationally. I have never had any problems with it at airports. Some places I have to go to for interpreting, it is like I ride in on a unicorn, with a horn made of gunpowder. Despite me explaining the bag and opening it up showing them the pack and wiring before they scan it. "What is that? Is that some sort of electronic? You need to take that out and have it scanned. What do you mean it can't be taken out? There are a bunch of wires in your bag, what are those for? please remove them. Do you ever travel? You should invest in another bag, there is no way this is allowed on a plane."

The other day, I seriously had a dream where I spent an hour balancing my checking account, and trying to project my cost of living versus income if I stayed on as a staff interpreter vs if I went freelance. In my dream I was amazed that I could easily earn more working way less hours and berated myself for not doing the math sooner. I pretty much woke up with a start, and immediately questioned myself that same question. I then satin bed rehashing all the math that i had just done in my dreams. Unfortunately the numbers did not add up. I told a friend (who happened to be asian as well) and wa told I was truly an Asian just for having a math dream. I then concluded I am a terrible one cause a good one's math would have been correct in their dreams.
Like previously mentioned, Arwyn plays a badass barbarian. Her ability to go into the raging frenzy is an amazing asset. Last session, Greggles caught onto (okay, he was told) that she is practically invincible as long as she continues to fight. Once she stops fighting she becomes exhausted. Greggles being a clever guy, realized she was flanked but devastating the mob and was fairly intimidating. He decided to make sure that she wouldn't run into the risk of exhaustion and then being re-engaged, so Barac belted out some insperation toward the mob to continue the good fight. He was ever so helpful, for a while.
So last Friday, I was basically paraded around and used as a demo/promo. I had a feeling I was being called to do something like that and I was right. I have no problem with that. It come with being pretty awesome. It was pretty amusing actually. Anyways, after that was done, I got to get some beers, and then watched Furious seven (fast and furious seven) again. I had watched it Thursday night as well. Not going to lie, I may watch it again. It was so damn good, it was worth being a prostitute for the day
the number one rule in RPG tabletop gaming is DON'T SPLIT THE PARTY! What is the thing my group likes to do? Split the party! To be fair, one of these days, it will absolutely pay off if they do split up, but when that is no one knows! Guess they will just have to keep doing it. Anyways, so everyone scattered through the lands and damn were they beastly. They were actually pretty stealthy for a while as they skirted the around the camp. That is til Vix (Arwyn) needed to be stealthy... and none of them were very observant... as each of them got flanked. The funny thing is, Vix went super saiyan right before Baric the Bard (Greggles) entered the picture. And let the raging frenzy begin!
