NASA recently announced that they have detected a number of planets in the next galaxy over that are in the "sweet spot" where they could sustain life of some sort as they define it. Who is to know what kind of unique beings there could be. We have such a limited understanding of what life is, why should we pigeonhole other beings? I bet we can't even detect when there is life cause we don't know what it is. Meanwhile, maybe what we consider fantastical beings, are actually in existence somewhere.

In my profession, I work at a lot of different places. On any given day I could be at a government agency, some base, or just an office. A number of times I have gone and sat at a security check point or desk while people are trying to get in, our get their credentials and badge for access to that facility because they are going to work there for a short period or permanently. It is interesting to see the differences in their security protocols and policies. Some places you expect to be hard to deal with are not, and some places which I personally don't think need it, have incredibly extensive and strict procedures. The other thing I found interesting is the amount of times that they don't follow their own.
Don't you love it when someone complains about things and then as their argument says that everyone else is having issues? Meanwhile, in reality everyone else is prefectly fine with whatever it was. I witnessed this the other day. Someone complained about how everyone was being migrated to windows 10 but they shouldn't be since their apps don't work on it. Funny thing was that everyone else on her team could get it to work. Turned out she had installed an old version. She wasn't supposed to even install it, the IT team was supposed to do it since they had all the current versions. She tried to drag her boss in on it who was like "what are you talking about??" and then got in trouble for not following procedures. good job!
I finally decided to work on my Chirruit cosplay again. I got the right materials like 3 weeks ago (since it turns out I was completely wrong last time I was working on it). Normally my process when working on a cosplay is to find a bunch of reference pics (usually I do videogame characters so this usually means playing the game for a while.. just to make sure I know what it looks like from multilpe angles and stuff... yeah...... that is why....). When they are other characters it sometimes means binging on whatever show or movie they are from then pulling out whatever fabric scraps I had or go buy whatever cheap fabric that was semi-close to accurate. This time, I started before Rogue one even came out. I had to rely on screen caps from the trailers (which lead me down many wrong paths). Afer they started showcasing the outfits at various events I used those. I didn't see any close up stuff so once again, I made incorrect choices. After it came out, there were books and more and better pictures of the outfit as well as actually descriptions so I finally knew the actual material they used.
Now, normally after I have the fabric, I usually make stencils for the pieces, grab booze and start making a mess of my creation. This time, I actually care about the end product. Thus, I decided to not drink and try to be careful. I'm still working on it (I'm actually going to start sewing as soon as I finish typing this up), and we shall see how it goes... Blizzard have got me... I love getting new skins in Overwatch. I love the game, and I love getting the skins. Even though while I'm playing as the character I don't actually see it. I get to watch others wear them unless our team wins. I get Play of the match or watch one of my many highlight reels from that gaming session (I am not that good... I don't see many highlights). I used to love Team Fortress 2 (still do) but I never got into the customizing of hats and weapons. After the first batch of weapon additions, I never really tried any thing else. I had no desire for it. Overwatch though... I want all the skins! All the poses and emotes! They don't even give you any buffs or perks. I'm also in the middle of play final fantasy 15 play through and they released a free special DLC of a chocobo festival. I love chocobos and moogles. This is a festival celebrating them with all sorts of games and stuff. They are both limited time events (Overwatch's Chinese New Year event just ending as I am typing this). I've had a dilemma of which to play most times that I actually have time or energy to play games. How do I decide?!?!
I am super excited about the new 40k Stuff coming. I will actually get to mix things up and add some variety to my Dark Eldars. Yes, I know I could mix and match with eldar and some other armies through the convenience rules. I never did. It didn't make sense to me. Dark Eldar would never have teamed up with any one else. Also, if it wasn't directly in a codex or rule book, I had no interest in piecing things together. Now, with the new stuff, I finally will be able to play with some other fun stuff (and hopefully have some actual power to hurt things). The biggest thing for me is the new Bike detachment. GIVE ME ALL THE JETBIKES!!!! I love playing with my DE jetbikers, but they could be a bit squishy and flimsy. Being able to pair them with the others makes my dice quiver. The only question will be how to paint them now. Do I go for a unified theme, or do I showcase that they are from different factions?
There have been a lot of leaks with the upcoming releases for Warhammer 40K. Lots of speculation that has led to a lot of discussion. One being about what would someone who has been sleeping for 10,000 years of a war do when awoken. How would it affect the battles and those fighting. What would they think when told about some new terror that was unseen and of the horrors that they have been enduring while fighting for their life. Seeing what has happened, what would you feel? I then stopped listening and day dreamed...
We love Imgur. Whenever we are feeling bored or down, we will hit up imgur to make us laugh or shake our head. We then share it with the rest if it is really good. Sometimes, you come across gems that other people find on various other social media and then they post em up followed by us devouring their comedic gold or high wisdom. Sometimes, strangers just have the right insight on life.
