The government may shutdown again. If so, I will be without work and hurting. Needless to say, I will be going into frugal mode. I actually have already started. I also, have been having cravings for certain foods. Don't judge me!

The Pope came to DC on his first trip to the states. People predicted massive chaos for those who live and work in DC. Many offices decided to allow their employees to telework (work from home) in order to avoid the mess. It was predicted that tourists from all over would be flocking into the city, disrupting the traffic and the mass transit. For those who ventured into the city, the experience was wholly....
Based off a true event. I do kinda appreciate the sentiment, and yet not sure if I should be insulted.
The police have been in the news a lot for poor decisions and actions. One being about, Ahmed, the 14 year old arrested (detained) for bringing a home made clock into school. Initially accused of bringing in a bomb despite one teacher knowing it was a clock. The Other incident was the James Blake situation where because of "misidentifying" former tennis pro James Blake was tackled by officers. NYPD Union Chief declared that only officers should be able to criticize police actions. He resorts to name calling and claims people judging his officers is unjust.
I still have been tired. I think it is allergies. It sucks. Damian has been sick. It also sucks. What doesn't suck, is when you get to go home early to get work done.
The other day, there was an article about how scientists found a 30,000 year old virus that had defrosted from siberia. It is named Mollivirus sibericum which translates t "soft virus from Siberia". It is a "giant virus" from prehistoric times. Called Giant, because it can actually be seen by light microscopy. Well, Now scientists want to reanimate it! (link here: on sciencealert) What the hell! Does anyone see anything good coming from this?
Greggles and I played in NOVA Open 40k in both the trios tournament and in the night games of the Narrative. Look to his posts for pics and posts about it. I originally was only going to play in trios, as it was my first real 40k convention. I've played at PAX and Magfest, but going to NOVA was pretty intimidating. Luckily some liquid courage helped loosen me up as we began our games. It also helped that my first opponent, Collin, was pretty awesome. I immediately felt at ease and just started having a ton of fun. He even offered my a slot in the Narrative games, which I eventually did take him up on and must thank him for because it was truly a blast. So much warhammer in such a condensed time frame was pretty tiring. I do a number of conventions every year, so you would expect that I'd be okay. I wouldn't take back a moment of the weekend and look forward to next year. However, lately conventions have been take more of a toll on me.
Hester and I are playing in warhammer 40k tournaments this weekend. The convention started on thursday where we played in trios. Leading up to this weekend, Hester has been painting practically 12 hours/day it seems and the 2 weeks leading up to it, I was doing at least a few/night when not working on comics. His army came out great. It has been a lot of work.
sometimes I overdo things. Too many miles run, too many hours hunched over drawing or painting. Sometimes I drink a bit much of whatever it is I am imbibing. The worst is when I am extremely over tired and try to counter it with coffee, then redbull, and sometimes a 5 hour energy on top if I am still struggling. Let me tell you.... it puts you in a weird place. I do not recommend it...
