I love the future! I've mentioned it before, I love where I live. I can get pretty much anything I want delivered to my door. I've been an Amazon Prime member for a long time. It honestly pays for itself within the first 3 months on the free 2-day shipping. Recently, they added in free same day delivery for prime members on many products if you purchase $35 or more. It is the greatest. I wake, up, go to work, and realize I need something or something breaks. I pull up the app, and with a few swipes and taps, products arrive sometime when I get home that day.

Recently drones have been in the news a bunch. People shooting em down with shotguns, with lasers and whatnot. There was an article recently about how there are a number of solutions to stopping drones from being about to fly into your air space. There are nets, on top of the previous solutions. Also mentioned are WiFi and other signal stoppers. I think I'd probably deal with the drones over some of the negative results.
Recently, the site Ashley Madison was hacked as I'm sure you all have heard by now. It being a site that promotes a safe site for like minded cheaters to find each other. The hackers who call themselves "the Impact Team" say they did so in order to educate the users, and to hopefully have the site shut down. They say that despite users paying for their account information to be deleted, they weren't. Just the other day, they started releasing information that they were able to get from the site. I am not making any judgements here about those users, the hackers or the site owners. If you were expecting me to, I am sorry. I have no interest in getting into any sort of debate on the virtues of any of this. I just like to make funny drawings. Hopefully this counts as one.
conference calls.... ugh. Right? They can be brutal. So many trainwrecks in such a short time. This doesn't just apply for when I'm interpreting. I mean all conference calls end up being terrible. I miss tye days of in person face to face meetings. Especially when it comes to critical decision making or actions required.
This summer, it seems everyone I know has decided to move. Not really, but many people have been. I am not a fan of moving. When younger, I moved just about one every year and a half starting in elementary school through college. It continued even after graduating for a while. After that, it slowed down to about every 2 years. I do not enjoy having to constantly deal with boxes and moving furniture. Not mine, and not others. I know I know... no one enjoys it. BUT, over my lifetime, I am rocking a personal moving ratio of 1 move/2 years. Actually, more than that since I'm not counting the moves that happened before 5th grade. So yeah, I am burned out of the activity, but the activity isn't done with me.
It is a crazy month for us here at FYN. So many of us are moving this month. It is taking up all our time and energy. The other day, I helped Arwyn and Macathu move their furniture to their new place. As we were loading up the truck, I got to see some of their issues they had with the house. It looked like a mass of spider carcasses had been sprinkled throughout. I'm not saying they don't keep a clean house. They do. That just emphasizes how terrible of a plague they had been enduring. That night, I had a rough night's sleep. I couldn't fall asleep for a while. When I did fall asleep it started off with dreams of me running. Normally is an enjoyable dream for me but since I haven't run in nearly a month and a half it was pretty painful. It then transitioned to spiders which normally don't bother me. In fact, I chill with 2 spider bros whenever I go out onto the hammock. But yeeeaaahhh.... it was a rough night's sleep.
It is a great time to be a fan of robots and mechs (not A.I.). Battlebots is back on the air. Man I have missed it. The new show does not disappoint. Megabots also recently unveiled their giant piloted functioning mech who then challenged the Japanese giant piloted mech to a battle next year. The challenge was accepted, and they wanted to make it into a melee brawl. The only questions I have are when can I get tickets and where will it be?
Do you experience this as well? You go out and buy supplies for a party, think you have enough but may be a little short and are concerned through the party? Where I live, I can get beer and drinks delivered to me via apps. It is awesome. I don't usually have to order cause we plan well and usually stock up just right, and our friends usually also bring stuff. This goes for food and bevs.
I really like humble bundle. You can find some really great stuff for virtually nothing. I liked it when it was just games. Now they have books and mobile stuff. Last week the book bundle was all stuff geared towards kids or beginner level educational material for tech. They had stuff on python, other coding, arduino, and linux commands. I decided to go ahead and buy the bundle and possibly get back into the world of coding. I haven't coded since 1999, so I figure it may be entertaining if it is in MANGA form! Of course these days, kids probably are born knowing how to code so I'm even behind them in the learning curve.
