While at Firefly music fest, my wallet was stolen. It was dumb of me, and I take responsibility of it. But it is still a bummer. It was my main wallet. The new Boba Fett bi-fold wallet with keychain. I've only had it for about a month or 2. Luckily I had my ID and 1 credit card on me at the time in my travel wallet so I wasn't completely boned. Still, the repercussions are being felt. And yes, the second panel may have happened over the weekend....

We were talking about how sometimes while we are gaming together, occasionally life needs to be addressed. Sometimes it is trying to snarf down some food while waiting to respawn because life eats up every other moment. It could be that the dog needs to go out, or a baby needs attention. We were saying how we used to be good at games. If only we could get some time to actually play. It just isn't fair. It would be great if there was a pro gaming division just for us.
It is funny how your body adapts to the circumstances you are in. It is also interesting how quickly it goes back to "normal" mode. When at events my body deals with completely different stresses and responds in completely different ways. Regardless if it is a convention that I am working as media, just attending, a music festival or just travelling. in comparison to how my body responds to things normally, I think I prefer my events body responses.
Some people have great bosses. Some do not. The things I have seen over the years and the stories I've heard. Work/life balance seems to be coming back into the minds of people. Only problem is that it seems only for certain people.
Going to the doctor's office can be brutal. First, it can be boring while waiting for your appointment. The other being that do you like being poked and prodded? Sometimes you just need a good distraction.
Awesomecon is over. It was a great 3 days. It was exhausting. On average I was on my feet for 10 hours. I believe I actually sat down for maybe about 20 mins a day. I averaged walking 11 miles just at the convention center. That doesn't include all the time I was standing in place talking photos. Needless to say, my body was unhappy and sore. It has been a while since the last time I ran an ultra, but I do remember how I felt. I wasn't painfully sore after, but a weary sore of muscle tension. I also, couldn't see straight or clearly after staring out of a view finder of cameras for so long. Once I was done with the convention, I ate so much. So much.
It is time for another convention. If you are a participant and not just attending a convention, your experience is vastly different. Not just the actual days but the lead up to it. By participate I mean you do something for it and not just show up in your day to day daily clothes or you are part of an event or panel. We have so much prep and work that goes into these conventions. It is worse when you are a procrastinator or you just don't think about it til it is so so very very very close to the actual event. Your evenings are just filled with standing or sitting over projects, research or your tears falling.
