Earlier this week people started posting on the social medias some report about how bacon and meat causes cancer (Doesn't everything at this point). A lot of people started spouting how it was true and that people who still eat bacon are wrong for doing so. People failed to read actually analyze the article. There were serious gaps in information. Needless to say, after enduring post after post about how avoiding bacon was life, the next day a bunch more posts came out debunking that report. So then you had to endure post after post of that. Can we all agree to eat what we want to eat and not get self righteous?

I do not drive very often for work. I am very fortunate in that regard. The issue is that I rarely see or check on my car. There have been a few times that my battery has died because someone has broken in or the door is ajar. It also is an issue when my car is damaged. Our landlord decided to rent out the other half of the driveway we use. They show up around 10pm every night hop out and just walk away. They don't even look back to make sure it locks. Needless to say, they aren't the most careful.
Sometimes I have to work at places where I can't bring in any tech. The good thing is that often times, those days are super busy and you don't have time to go stir crazy. The roughest days is when you plan on that, and then get redirected elsewhere. Luckily most times you probably drove and thus still have a phone. Except usually that is your only tie to sanity and you burn through it pretty quick.
Today, The new Star Wars Force Awakens trailer was released as well as ticket purchases. These all occurred (well were planned to occur) during the half time of today's Monday night football game. The tickets released early, and the trailer went up online as soon as it started playing live on TV. People started pummeling the various sites for tickets well before the game even started and apparently tickets went live at around 8:00 (game STARTED at 8:30). Greggles and I are huge fans of the franchise as you should know by now. I coordinated so that we could watch it together opening night. I can not wait!!! It only took an hour and 20 mins for my purchase to finally go through. Well worth it! All day I was wondering who approached who for this idea. I couldn't think of a reason why it helped Disney. Thankfully Macathu had a quick answer.
This week, a news report has caught the attention of the world via social media (isn't that how all news is now being caught?). The story goes, Aunt goes to kid's birthday party. Kid hugs Aunt, they fall she gets hurt. 4 years later, sues kid. Kid was 8 at the time... How ridiculous is that? Then says she had no choice and that she was advised by counsel to pursue this course of action. She claims to love him, but sues for $127,000. Here is a link to the story and the resulting outcome. Who would think that this would end well?
This weekend was the Battlefront beta. Greggles and I both decided (independently) that we weren't going to play it and instead wait for the actual release. It was tough to wait it out. Not sure how Greggles felt. I did watch a few "lets plays" to get me through. I can not wait to play it as the two of us are such fans of the franchise. This conversation actually happened.
Back to our regularly scheduled comedic flair. Recently Microsoft unveiled their new line of phones, surface pro and book. I like what they did. They put together some really impressive devices. I believe I will be adding the surface pro 4 to my "to buy" list. The surface book is pretty badass, but I just don't need a laptop. This brought about a few discussions on how Apple hasn't been truly innovated the last few years. they seem to tweak a few things, update some stuff and that is about it. Don't get me wrong, their products are very reliable and they work right out of the box. They just feel a bit stagnant. Recently it was found that they have been playing with new ideas. One being a "smart ring" (linked as the quote). It begs to ask.... WHY???? how much could you truly do with a ring size screen? Maybe it is just the beginning and they actually have been thinking outside the box.
This comic is not making light of police brutality nor is it to promote any agenda. It is a direct comment (actually just where my weird mind wandered) to an article that I read about how NYPD never defined the term "excessive force" in their handbooks or trainings. I know officers and respect them. I've even had discussions over this with them. I think it is comical that they never define what they mean by force and any standard to which interpret whether someone is using it in excess.
This week, all sorts of stuff has happened in the sky (not sure if what I'm thinking of counts as "sky"). First was the eclipse which resulted with the blood moon. NASA then announced that there looks like water does exist and surface on Mars. Two pretty cool things. Also, two things that could bring chaos...
