So the move continues. It has consumed my last month. It is pretty much done now. Furniture and 95% of my stuff is over at the new place. My room is pretty much arranged, and I even slept, showered, and did laundry at the new place. I just have to clear out and scrub down the kitchen and clean up bits here and there in the apartment.

Noticed this a while back, and others have concurred. Weddings and Baby showers come in cycles. One year you will have like 5 weddings to go then a year or two later, have a bunch of baby showers (funny enough, usually not the same group). It can get tedious. Apparently right now is the Baby Shower turn.

Yes it is just inking. Sorry, but all the things requird for moving has eaten my soul. Yesterday alone I spent 18 hours on my feet running around trying to get stuff taken care of (like internet, movers, moving).

This is the final weekend in my current apartment. Been 3 good years. I've actually lived in my building for 7+ years now. I will miss it and the few neighbors I know. I think I'm going to miss the staff the most. Anyways, the time has come for the serious business of the move. All the boxes are packed and I have been purging all the things I will not be taking with me. The amount l stuff I can accumulate is tremendous. So for me trying to bring it down to what would fit into just a 10x11 room has been difficult. It is a never ending cycle of pick it up, bag it, drive to recycling center or donation bin, drive back.... rinse and repeat. I have a feeling I still am taking too much with me and I could purge more, but it is too late now. I'm not going through those boxes til the movers place em in my new room. It has been 3 long weeks of trying to make sure I have Less, not more

So things in the news are sad and disturbing. The Malaysian flight *possibly* shot down by Russia, the hammering of Hamas, Tour de France craziness... And then you get a gem every so often. In Spain, they made it illegal to take selfies while participating in the running of the bulls. They justified it with saying that it puts yourself and others in danger when you slow down and get distracted trying to get a shot. I actually agree and think this is a good thing. So the fun part of this news, is that someone decided not to heed the new law. There are photos (not the actual selfie itself) from the crowd or some other camera of a person who appears to be taking a selfie. The police got hold of the picture and proceeded to declare a manhunt for him. There is a pretty decent fine that comes with breaking this law. I believe it is like 2500 pounds or something. Poor guy. He just wanted to run and document the chase.

I hate moving

Moving sucks. All the packing, cleaning, organizing and stuff is terrible. The fact that I started 3 weeks in advance does not reduce the suckage level. In fact, it may make it worse. Motivation started high, but then dips. I much rather do anything else, and since it feels like I have plenty of time (even though I know I don't). I will admit, it can be a good excuse at times, when you do not feel like doing anything and just want to stay in and veg. Most of the time, it just gives you the moving woes.

Being In Sync

So, a new Dragonball Z movie is coming out next month! I grew up with the original. I remember having to borrow and/or buy bootleg vhs copies of episodes as a kid. I am very excited to see a new work I'm that universe.

Last week I posted about how Greggles and I were out of sync. I am happy to report that we are finally back. This is very important as it affects my pool of material to use in order to think up comics. If we are out of sorts then conversations don't flow and things are just sad. Our minds need to be in
Synchronization for me to produce comics. otherwise, I end up with not exactly what I had planned or not what I need.

Like I mentioned in my last post, it is my fear that my jokes are not understood or simply not funny. Of course, greggles had to make that fear a reality for me the other day. I know he takes pride in seeing my pain, when he causes it. He is a bad man. Do not be fooled! No, he is actually a really good feedback person. He always tell yo when things can be improved and gives really good and critical feedback in a non-belittling way.

I think that day, greggles and I were just off. We weren't in sync at all pretty much all day which is odd. Of course, we didn't realize that til much later, hence my extreme sadness and bitterness when the first thing he says to me is "I don't get it"

4th of July

Last Friday was the 4th of July. In the US, it typically entails lots of food, bevs, and then fireworks. Some states you are allowed to own and set off personal fireworks. In some other states, this is illegal (and other states allow for some but not other). Where we went, there were a number of people setting off their own fireworks. Including our host, who's wife works in a hospital. She had to work that night, and we joked that we would be seeing her sooner than she would expect. The next day, the news had a number of stories about injuries and accidents that occurred because of people setting off fireworks (both legal and illegal types). This brings this all back to the idea that we all should have been seen at the hospital for various firework injuries

I was afraid that the joke in the Comic wouldn't be understood, so I did a test run with a co-worker who has never read any of my stuff or really knows my humor. We work fine together and seem to get along just fine, so I had her check it, and if she laughed I would post it. She did, and I even asked if she got it to which she confirmed. Hence, it went up. My nightmare of course still came true when Greggle's basically asked what the punchline was after reading it. Therefore, my fear is your gain. You now get a bonus comic that I drew last year, but holds true specifically today's weather. It is frakin HOT out.... Demotivation is high (link brings you to the same page, bonus comic is under original). The changing of my art work is pretty visible I think.

Greggles is really good about praising people's stuff when they have worked hard on something. Problem is, he usually praises those of us with a lot of snark. It usually brings about a few interesting conversations and events. We also tend to get each other stuff whenever we see something cool another would like. I transitioned over to using Manga Studio from Sketchbook pro so it took me a while to get comfortable with it and get back into the flow of my drawing. So Greggles has been kind lately and has been pointing out things that he likes from my work. Any time there is a mention of him being sith he enjoys it (know your audience folks). So much that he did ask for a copy of just one panel, which I of course graciously gave him.

I think it is a fair statement to say that most people have 1 or more co-workers that have odd/or terrible habits that may or may not disgust us. I deal with more than y share since I get to work with everyone else's co-workers. Sometimes, they can be reasoned with, sometimes, you have to make them realize that they are wrong and shit does stank. sometimes, Greggles' knowledge of the ancient and most cruel of the Sith ways amazes me.
