Arwyn went to go check out this Nintendo event that was pretty cool. Lots of fun stuff going on and what not. She asked someone who was working it how she got involved. She meant, how did she end up there that day as part of the event. Instead she got a life and career lesson.
When I'm tired, I get cranky as all hell as I'm sure I've already mentioned. Sometimes, innocuous comments or jokes just get to me and I unleash as may have happened this week. The problem is that people can not tell the difference between when I'm just being sarcastic and biting or angry at times and then spit sarcasm back which just never ends well. I'm usually more hungry and more susceptible to heat, which also piles onto the hate. It is a cycle... At least until I sleep.
stench of death
Flatulence is funny. When you stink yourself out of a room, it is hilarious! For those who don't think so, I'm sorry. Hester the other day let us know he had some crazy amount of gas and let it go "for like 10 mins" and that he was glad he had an office to himself and hoped no one needed him.
10 years ago, Square Enix showed us a game. A game many people were excited about. No, not kingdom hearts III, although that is another one. They promised us final fantasy XIII Versus, and I was excited. It looked great. Every few years, they would bring it back out and tell us they haven't forgotten about it and that it was still in development. Unlike Valve and their half life 3 situation where they just say it isn't happening, Square kept us dangling. They would release teasers and trailers every so often, giving us just enough taste to want more. I'm pretty sure they have Opium dealers on their pay roll as consultants. Regardless, they finally gave us a release date. They then gave us 2 very different demos, and trailers to some animated film they are trying to release simultaneously. It felt like it was finally going to happen and that they were giving us more to repent. Then it was announced they were delaying the release. Despite that they had already created and printed the master game disc, they wanted to go back and create a new one. As to be expected, the internet went into a rage. Why? When it is just 2 more months after 10 years of waiting. What could go wrong?
painting is relaxing
NOVA Open is coming up pretty quick. A lot quicker than I had expected. So the scramble is on to make sure I have all my stuff ready. Same goes for Greggles. Which means lots of painting and right now for us, conversions of our minis. Last year, I borrowed some minis to fill out my army list. I do not like doing that. I don't like playing with proxies. I also don't like mixing armies if they don't make sense which for Dark eldar, means I can't ally with anyone really. So the trying to get my list up to snuff, I've been working on grotesque conversions. I still also need to make a cronos, but right now I'm just focusing on the grotesque. I wish I had started earlier. I want to play games, and draw, but they are now my world whether I like it or not.
Greggles has to deal with some interesting people. They don't tend to listen to what he says and then get angry. They also behave interestingly. I too work with some interesting people, and it seems there has been a high amount of turn over at some of the places I've been. They are pleased with themselves when they do.
I had a really rough saturday. Woke up and got ready to have fun with friends. I had organized a bachelor party and was super psyched for all the fun. We went go-karting and damn it was it fun! I'm actually sore from it! I had planned for that, and then back to the house for board, video games, bbq,and bevs. I failed on a number of points. I woke up and could not find a stash of cash I had set aside that week for the party and for the wedding gift. We have had a lot of people at the house doing various things (fixing our HVAC, dry walling, cleaning). They also basically ripped my room apart, disassembled my furniture and went through stuff... I had placed the money in a very specific location in a specific container, and it wasn't there on Saturday when I woke up. I'll just leave it at that. It was not an insignificant amount and will hurt me in the near future. Since I was flustered from that, and spent so much time re-ripping myroom apart and hunting, I was rshed, an forgot pretty much everything when I left. I had to go back for the food (which I didn't even remember to get all of it).. I forgot all the board games (did remember my xbone), beerpong table and was 45 mins late. Glad it all worked out in the end.
There is a lot of rage at the recent changes to Pokemon Go. They got rid of the 3 footprints and third party trackers. There is also discussions about whether or not they reduced the percentage of catching Pokemon. I am okay with all this. The 3 paw print didn't work, so removing that and simply showing what is around totally works and makes sense for me. I tended to wander and catch what ever came about around me anyways. increasing the difficulty to catch Pokemon doesn't really impact me, since I had always thought it was random, and i suck at random success.
worth the trip
There was a leak in the ceiling of my closet. We reported it and people came to look at it and fix it. They initially thought they would just sand off the damage and repaint to cover it up. I was home when they came and I explained that wouldn't work. It was obviously worse than they thought. They came back a WEEK later, and inspected it at which time they agreed that it was much worse. They ended up coming back another week later, and did some work while I was at work. I came home to a hole in my closet. The next day, I came home to 1/4 of my ceiling missing all above my bed. The next day, even more of my ceiling was missing and the HVAC system was shut off. We had to go a few days without any HVAC all while it was miserably humid and extremely hot (near 100). I haven't slept in my bed for a week and everyone in the house has been miserably uncomfortable every night. It was worth driving 9 hours back and forth for a 3 hour visit just to enjoy the wonderful sensation of A/C.
