Lately all the games I have beenplaying require an amount of dedication to exploration or repetition. This is what we call grinding. It is doing things again and again for incremental improvements or gains and/or rewards. Final Fantasy as a franchise is based om this mechanism, and Overwatch by blizzard does it in order to win new outfits (skins) and other rewards. I do not like grinding for the most part. WOW required a lot of it, and many MMORPGs do, hence I don' really get into them. Star Wars Old Republic had it, but has drastically reduced the amount needed to progress through the story. Games have to have other components that would compel me to actually play through it beyond the chance of getting a shiny. I have no issue in giving up on a game if it doesn't have something to draw me in for the most part. I am not a person who enjoys grinding for grinding sake... usually
