After I moved (again) I booted up my computer to play music while I unpacked. After a while, I noticed a peculiar smell coming from the room where it was. It was the smell of electronics burning. I first thought all it needed was a good air blowing/cleaning. I shut it down and let it sit for a day and then took compressed air to it. I booted it back up, and 20 mins later, the odor was back. I sniffed around trying to determine what component was the culprit. The only problem was that the fans all over my computer kept shifting where the smell was coming from. I thought I had pinned it down to the videocard. That being the case, I ordered a new card (found a refurbished one, that would be at least on par with the replaced, on sale). Waited the 2 days to get it and then installed it. Whelp, wasn't the problem. So I once again sniffed around. I pulled it all apart, cleaned out all the fans and components, and then slapped it all together again. Turns out it was the power supply. So I ordered a new one of those. When it came in, I was excited to have a working machine again and get back into battlefront. Well, F that power supply. The cables were so ridiculously short nothing reached what I needed them to reach. WHO MAKES THIS CRAP!! Kentax, suck my yellow...... I ended up having to walk to best buy, and luckily after 20 mins of searching managed to find the ONE that was what I could tolerate. So many wasted orders and so many times pulling this damn computer. I have been planning on building a new one, but not for a few months since I first need to buy a new surface pro. I might as well have just moved up that build....
congrats! You get 2 different strips today! A few months ago, I played at NOVA's 40k trios as well as their night narrative games. It was a whole lot of fun, and I'm grateful that I got to play. The narrative is just what it seems. You play out battles based off certain narrative settings and situations. On the second night I got matched up with (I think. It has been a while since it happened) Gregg (not Greggles). My Dark Eldar against his Chaos Daemons. It was an interesting match up. For the good guys (which side my Dark eldar played on) were giving forcefields that could span nearly the length of the table. It blocked all shooting and was impassable (you could not walk through it). These were all good things for me as Dark Eldar are fairly squishy, and most of my army are in things that can hover and thus go over said forcefield. The problem was, that I was facing an army of psychers so the forcefield did nothing to prevent ranged attacks from them as they are not projectiles, and his Princes could just go over the field as well. It hurt...
