Now, normally after I have the fabric, I usually make stencils for the pieces, grab booze and start making a mess of my creation. This time, I actually care about the end product. Thus, I decided to not drink and try to be careful. I'm still working on it (I'm actually going to start sewing as soon as I finish typing this up), and we shall see how it goes...
I finally decided to work on my Chirruit cosplay again. I got the right materials like 3 weeks ago (since it turns out I was completely wrong last time I was working on it). Normally my process when working on a cosplay is to find a bunch of reference pics (usually I do videogame characters so this usually means playing the game for a while.. just to make sure I know what it looks like from multilpe angles and stuff... yeah...... that is why....). When they are other characters it sometimes means binging on whatever show or movie they are from then pulling out whatever fabric scraps I had or go buy whatever cheap fabric that was semi-close to accurate. This time, I started before Rogue one even came out. I had to rely on screen caps from the trailers (which lead me down many wrong paths). Afer they started showcasing the outfits at various events I used those. I didn't see any close up stuff so once again, I made incorrect choices. After it came out, there were books and more and better pictures of the outfit as well as actually descriptions so I finally knew the actual material they used.
