This week on the workbench, I assembled a crusader, a techmarine, and painted up a comms relay. Been a busy one! Lets jump right into the Crusader.
This is the 15mm Crusader from Dreamforge games. I picked one up during their fantastic sale (prior to the imperial knights release). I wanted a model that was similar to a contemptor dread, as I wanted to play with one (but didn't want to buy one, mainly cause I know they'd come out with a Black Templar one the second I ordered it)
This kit is quite different then your standard GW kits. Pretty much all the joints are posable, and all the pistons move. Because of this, each assembly section takes quite a bit longer then you'd expect. One of the arm joints has nearly a dozen pieces, all which must be fitted just right. Luckily they use screws for the tougher sections, which not only let you set the tension of the joints, but prevent you from making a model destroying super glue mistake.
I would not recommend this kit for a beginning modeler. You'll tear your hair out. It definitely takes patience, but you'll be rewarded.

There is never enough scale photos of this guy. He's really tall (about 4.5 inches), and has quite the stance.

Threw in some daemons, a trygon, sister, and templars for you guys as well. I think his scale is pretty spot on for a contemptor dread. Of course you lose some of hte benefits of the normal contemptors small size, but hey...look how bad ass he looks!
The arms are also swapable and removable. I'm not really a big fan of the default sword arm...it looks a bit weedy compared to the rest of the model.
Luckily there are multiple planned replacement arms (of all manner and kind) that will be available this summer. I'm hoping for a more gauntlet oriented one, so I can have him hold a proper sword. Keep in mind the above link is only for the 28mm.

As you probably guessed, I'll be painting this guy as part of ELT on the bolterandchainsword forums for the templars. I'm hoping I can do the model justice. We'll see! Thanks for stopping by and reading!
