Listen up ya gits! It's Krumpin time! Me and da bossez R rite Mads ovar greggles progress. Times fer a betta boss! Donz mez wif da orks! or ya will meet da buisnez end o' mi klaw!! You might be thinking...wow these guys are painted really well. This seems a bit better then greggles normally paints. Well there is a reason for that! These guys are a prize I won from Da Long Wayz Dezert Groop! You won't believe this (or maybe you will)...but I won it, because I commented and was entered into a contest! There ya go kids, comments do result in rewards besides ever lasting internet friendships! The Squib just takes the cake. I can't even. Such a friggin AWESOME model. I squealed with orkish delight when I opened the package. (sound stepping on a grot makes) Luckily I've been doing all these base tests...and just so happened to have a lovely 40mm base ready to go. Moved da boss over, and now I've got the beginning of a side deff wing army (all meganobz, all the time). Happy Halloween everyone! Hope to have something new to show you on Monday...unless I play Xenonauts all weekend again!

Welcome back mis amigos! As I promised, here are all the lovely textures I collected from San Juan. I put them up in the paints and pots section, so it wouldn't kill the main blog page. You can check them out by clicking on the image bellow, or the over sized zeal button beneath it. If you miss both of these, there may be a button at the bottom. Who knows. Maybe you feel lucky! In other news, I got a whole slew of hobby goodies when I got back from vacation. There will be a bunch of photos and discussion of those in the following sentences and images!
Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends, We're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside. Let's get dirty now, shall we? While Greg was out gallivanting around...wherever, "some" of us were staying busy, eagerly awaiting his return. Well, maybe not "eagerly", but you get the idea. So, as I've been putting things together, I'm sure the understanding between us is that eventually they would start to get some color on them and emerge from the "Legions of Grey". As I think I stated in one of my earlier posts, I was going to do a variation of Iyanden, substituting the glaring yellow for a more sand color...which was fine, but as I got closer to the task I began that "it's one thing to have an idea" and "it's quite another to translate it into something more tangible" feeling. Hey Guys! I'm back from vacation, and what a vacation it was. Absolutely stunning weather, nice relaxing time, and tons of beautiful textures to share with you all! I'm working on a texture only post, which will be up next week, but wanted to share a few shots with you guys just the same! It's going to take me awhile to catch up with everyone's blogs, so be prepared for a Greg flood of comments!
If you didn't guess, this will be a very image heavy post. Sorry phone users! Welcome everybody! I hope you like bases...because Greggles is crazy about bases currently! That's right, it's another post about making a base! This time I upscale the base one more step, and bump it to 60mm. This base is going to be used for the deff dread that is both part of my LVO and Nova lists. From this point on, all the ork stuff is being painted and designed for Nova, and will just happen to work with LVO. (Trying to double to save on costs and transport) I read on another blog, that an excellent source for cork like material was Ikea table mats. It just so happened I have a few old ones, so I tore into them. It's perfect support structures for a base. Here you can also see the various materials I set aside to use in the base construction. Though I did this in kinda of a roundabout way, I've come up with the concept forthe bases. They are going to represent a crashed space hulk that the orks have been ransacking. This provides both the reasoning for this style base, gives a link to the daemon summoning, and also a reason why other races would suddenly show up to try and take what is rightfully the orks! (Plus explains all the walkers!)
Another Wonderful Guest Blogger Post From Honda! Enjoy Guys! -G The way is shut. It was made by those who are Dead. And the Dead keep it. The way is shut. Dunharrow... Iyanden...sure that works. I think I'm going to memorize that quote so I can recite it in my games when I bring out the Dead Men Walking.
Besides, if I keep my face slack and let my eyes roll back while I'm quoting this, I might freak someone out. Advantage: Iyanden Ok this week's focus is on some Wraithblades. I love how they look as models, and I have to add that the Wraithguard/Wraitblade are amazing models, to the point where they almost have too much detail. Hey guys! Welcome to the begining of the weekend! I hope you've had a great week. I've continued my exploration of techniques and boy do I have some goodies to show you! I'm super psyched to share these! So from last time, I started adding washes, (quite a few of them) to create various color shifts in the surface and dirt/grim of the bases. The idea is that generally we don't see very many monotone color structures, and pretty much anything that is worn or dirtied up, is ripe with various colors through it. One of the big things I'm looking to do with these new techniques, is bring color back into my palette.
Welcome back amigos! I got caught up some endless legend (I'm a sucker for 4x games) so didn't get as much done this week. Plus mordor is out, and the new alien game sounds great. There goes my painting time! Started out making some bases again. figured I'd try some random floors and grit this time, on some 40mm bases. Give me a bit more room to work in, and maybe help me to figure out color schemes.
Hey fellas. As before, this is a guest blog post from Honda! Enjoy! Welcome back Nerds and Nerdettes! It's time for another chapter of "Feed Your Iodine", er, Iyanden. In today's effort I wanted to show some HQ choices I modeled up. As stated last post, I really have no idea what I am doing, but stick me in front of bits and in some cases a little green stuff and odd things begin to happen. At this point, other than the Wraithseer dude, I'm not really sure what I should be running as far as HQs go. It seems logical that there are some Spiritseers in there, but for a 2000 point army, what makes the most sense? <Dune-like "internal" discussion: I know, it depends on what you want to do. So what do you want to do?> Hey Guys! Welcome back! We last left off with my attempt at making a few bases. I'll skip the priming step, since everyone knows what a black base looks like. The first thing I did was lay down some paints on the palette, with some flow improver to help them keep from drying, and mix better. This is all new stuff to me. Mixing colors...palette...flow improver. I went a little nuts this week.
This week I attempt to actually do something. That's right, I'm just posting theories and photos. I actually glued something. There may be paint involved! (Or at least primer). I've started using twitter a bit more thanks to Cadian Shock. If you are interested, my direct twitter is @3dgreg. I will try to respond if you tweet me, but I'm new to the whole on the line and the twtiter so bear with me. The sites (mainly for posting updates is @feedyournerd1 So to start off with...lets talk about what I'm working on this very second. I picked up a base pack from secret weapon. It's got a nice selection of differing flock sizes (of grit). From slate pieces, to very fine sand. Fit perfectly in some 2 ounce jello shot containers (from the previous post :) ).
