Hey Guys! I'm happy to introduce you all to Honda, a guest blogger to FYN. He will be blogging about his buildup of his Iyanden Eldar Army, a nice counterpoint to all the ramshackle orks you've been reading about! With that said, here is Honda!

I burn witches.

It's what I do, and I have a lot of fun doing it. I built a rather large Black Templar army that's sole reason for existing is to seek out the vile, the weak, and the unforgiven and eradicate them. Especially if they are witches. The Emperor knows that humanity has a tough enough time as it is, without all those screen doors to the warp running around letting in uninvited guests.

Especially guests that don't clean up after they've made a mess.

You Can Do It! New Techniques to Master, and Tuska!

Welcome back fellow plastic enthusiasts. Today I'm going to be showing you my very first painted models. I do this not to torture myself, but to showcase where I started, where I am now, and where I am planning to go. I also hope this helps anyone looking for the first time thinking (gee, I can't paint miniatures). It just takes practice and constant learning!

That quality! Best of the ones I could find :)

Three color standard here for sure. The feet blend into the base, so you have no idea which direction the ork is running. (generally off the board from bolter fire). So how did I get to this point? Let's find out! It's story time!

Tons of New Goodies, Re-Learning, Malifaux

Hey Guys! Another week of planning and rebuilding. Got some secret weapon goodies in, a respirator, a new airbrush, and some Malifaux!

I've been spending a ton of time watching videos and preparing to start learning new techniques, so it looks like almost nothing is being done on the hobby front. I'm a big prep-er. I'll set up my station, purchase the items, and batten down the hatches before I go full bore into creating. I'ts a bit of the by-product from my old design/science background. Work smarter not harder!

We will start with the obvious. I finally broke down and bought a Malifaux box. You can thank Todd and G mort for that. Todd's constant awesome painting, and G morts constant "unboxing" articles wore me down.

Light Up Your Hobby Space! (Or Paint in Darkness!)

Hey Guys! Sorry I've been a bit quiet this week. Missed my Monday post. Didn't have too much to talk about on the hobby front. Still been debating back and forth on my master ork list. Giving me fits. Been working on a nice spreadsheet to organize myself. Also been reworking my hobby area with new paint holders, (finally have 100% access to all my paints), and replacing my lighting system!

Hey Guys! Been a crazy week and I'm finally getting back into the groove of things. Today I bring you a review of the Mekanika Studio paint trays. I have been on the look out for some trays to house my mini's, and came across them a few months ago. Been storing money on the side to pick some up, and finally hit my target. So I get some paint trays, and you guys get a review!

Building a Fun Themed 1850 Point Ork List for LVO

Hey guys! Welcome to the blog (if you are new here!). Been a wild weekend since we got featured on faeit 212 and then it comes to monday, and Dave over at 40k addicts featured a post about the blog that literary brought tears to my eyes. I didn't really have much to talk about this monday (after doing one post every day last week), but thought I should at least say a thanks, and talk about upcoming things I'll be working on.

Hot on the heels of NOVA, I've gone ahead and booked a room at the LVO in las vegas, run by frontline gaming. Figure that way I'll get a taste of the east and west coast tournament scene. I'm still waiting on the types of events going on (tournament wise), but hope to bring an Ork list. It's ork walkers, because there wasn't enough of those at Nova. (but quite a few green tides!)

Here we are at the end my friends. The end of the photos I took of Nova. All in all it was more then I ever imagined I took. The power of digital technology! Each batch has gotten progressively larger as I relaxed what I thought what be a decent one to post...and this one is a doozy. This includes all my remaining photos from Friday. Army shots, action shots, close ups, cell phone snaps. It's all here!

If I missed capturing your army, I apologize. I tried my best to get every one. Some people where only there for one day, some left early, and some just were always in a state of movement by the time I got to them. (I got desperate at the end and started snapping photos in boxes!).

At this point, you'd think I'd be running out of photos. What you may not realize, is all the photos I have posted thus far, are just from Thursday. Thursday was the "lite" army day. Now begins the actual Grand Tournament, when 180+ players show up to battle. I'm going to try to fit friday-sunday in two posts, so they are going to have a lot of photos.

Back again. Finally finished all the photos from Thursday. This includes the invitational, trios, and some narrative shots. Coming tomorrow will be the start of the GT, and another 50+ armies. I can't believe how much time it's taking to go through these guys. I hope you are all enjoying them!

The Beautiful Armies of Nova Part 1

Hey Guys! As promised, I'm going to be putting up groups of photos of NOVA OPEN armies for the next few days. It's taking me a long time to go through, clean them up, resize, and post them...so it's taking a bit of time. At current count, I'm about 180 images through (100 out of 900). Trying to stick to mainly the army shots, then we'll hit up some great action shots!

Because of how sporatic and time based htese photos were, I don't have the owner information handy. There was extremely limited time to take the photos. It seemed just as everyone set their armies out, they were calling for the assignments, and then everyone was moving and unloading their armies. If you want credit for your lovely army, just leave a comment. I'll also link to torrent of fire's ranking which can help everyone identify!

Best of Nova Open 2014, and Hobby Blog To-Do 2015

Going to be a lot of blog posts this week fellas! Hope you are ready! I have around 600 photos of Nova armies to go through, so going to split them up into multiple days. Today I'm going to be covering the Dave Weston Hobby To Do List Alumni for 2015. Still have to do a summary of Nova, all the awesome people I met...so much blogging to do!

What's that you might ask? It's a loosely definite way for fellow bloggers to announce to the community what they plan to finish from now till 2015. It's a motivational way of providing inspiration for one another, and positive feedback so we all reach our goals.

Dave Weston (one of my favorite blogs) started it at Confessions of a 40k Addict. Stop by and check out everyone's lists (and possibly join in!). Since my list is a bit long, I will post it after the break (along with my best of Nova open considerations).
