Hey everyone! I'm back from New Orleans. Had a wonderful time visiting my sister and hanging out with my lovely lady...but now it's back to serious plastic business! I was able to work on my storm talon yesterday, and also purchased a few goodies!
I finished the line edgework (much like the hunter/stalker), base metallics, and the first wash. This is just the base red at this point, and will soon get it's second layer + wash/highlight.
The line work on this one is a bit messier. The sharp angles plus a degrading brush caused them to be a bit slopier. I'm telling myself that it's an aircraft, so it should be a bit less clean. We will see how I feel when it's completely done!
This is also not it's final form. I'm currently hunting ebay for drop pod fins at a decent price after seeing a tutorial from Danny over at hand of junk!

Danny's conversion is simple, and looks quite cool. I'm going to modify his design to still keep the turret on the chin, but otherwise I like the new placement of the missiles and longer wings.

As some of you know, my first army was orks, and it's my main love. Templars hae taken over the past year as the orks became less and less competitive in the current meta. (they are still fun, but I went from losing sometimes, to never winning).
With the new codex on it's way, I started scouring the web for fun stuff. I found a fellow selling supa kannon's for really good deals. I always thought the supa kannon looked ridiculous, so thought it would be a great piece for a battlewagon killkannon :).

Maxmini.eu was also having a sale on their "steamknight" helmets for 28mm mini's. I picked up a set to use as alternate templar heads to break up their look a bit. Haven't decided whether to use them on the elite units, break them up for use as sword brothers, or just use for HQ's. They look pretty cool!
Last but not least! Dragonforge design is having their summer sale! If you are looking for some amazing bases, check them out! I just ordered a huge amount for the ork army refit!
