That's it for this week. Hoping to have another 10 choppa boyz done for next week as well. It never ends! (well actually it does, as now I'm past the halfway point!). Have a great hobbying everyone!
Welcome back my friends! Another week, and more orks on the table!
So something happened this week that I never thought would happen. I started listening to everyone and started putting on checks onto some of the shoulder plates. What have I done! Of course I haven't done any white, because I don't have white on the entire army, so most likely going to stick with some sort of metallic checks, just to keep with the overall silver/yellow theme. I know this makes traditionalists squirm, but hey, its orks :).
It really helped on the big choppa nob. That is for sure!
I also had my big 2500 point game vs Dan from https://40kbadcast.com/ . I was annihlated! The stompa blew up in a single turn of shooting! Not going to grumble too much, but I think super heavies shouldn't get the re-rolls from normal characters. But that's just me (because orks get no special rerolls at all! :) ).
You can check out some of the twitch stream here! Warning: There is some very loud yelling right after the stompa dies. I rolled a 1 to see if he explodes, used a command point, and rolled a 6. It did an unbelievable amount of damage to Dan's parking lot! (more damage then I did most of the game!)
Finished another unit of 10 boyz, this time da choppa boyz! Really happy with their new look. They are mega vibrant on the table! Final photos aren't ready yet, as still waiting for the bases to come in. Then they get based, varnished, then powders, effects, and metallic spot highlights! (then the pretty photos).
Also picked up a rechargable light for my cabinet to try out. It's this fellow from amazon.
It's magnetic, and has a on/off switch and auto sensor. The auto sensor is crap. But it fits on the shelf diagonally and has an easy to access switch. It's usb rechargeable, so no batteries and no wires. Might get one more to experiment. It's a bit expensive (compared to just buying the lights from ikea and wiring them up...but that takes time and is annoying :) ).
Last but not least, I've been working on the nob banner (And the nob as well). Was able to get the armor tones from the dreads looking the same when painted on (as opposed to sprayed). Pretty happy about that!
