I am going to try and split up the posts more, to try and continue the two 40k posts a week on FYN. Leave a comment if you'd rather have more updates with a bit less in the update, or less updates with more meat!
Without further ado, here is this weeks video! Please comment as much as you want about it! I try to work as I normally do, it's a bit hard to video yourself working...that is for sure!
Brown brown brown brown!
The steps you may have missed prior to this...purchase bases from dragon forge design. (btw their kickstarter was funded! thanks for helping it!). Wash the bases, and prime them (still using vallejo, haven't swapped to the badger yet!). Then coat each base with mournfang brown.
It's a lighter brown!
Next I switch to a large dry brush, and apply a decent coat of khemri brown (baneblade brown now, but doesn't look that close to me). I use a heavier dry brush, and get most of the base down. (video for technique). Next I used a light dry brush (light as in, light pressure) of Rakarth flesh, and went over all the bases again. (totally forgot to snap a photo of this).
To Wash is Magic!
Next a heavy coat of devlan mud, using a secondary brush to control spots of the wash (to prevent spotting, and to make sure its in all the crevices).
Post Wash!
After the wash, the bases are looking pretty cool. I may add some grass to some of the bases after mounting the models. (I just super glue the grots on. I don't bother pinning them, as they are basically 1 piece models, sometimes 2 piece).

Last but not least, I just take some chaos black and rim the edges of the base to clean them up. And there you have it. Easy badlands bases for the gretchin! Just a simple little exercise in making the bases. You can do some advanced techniques to make them look better, but I'm going mainly for consistency and tabletop quality (consistency of quality is important in army judging). I wouldn't use resin bases for a competition piece. Please let me know how you liked (or disliked) the video, or if you'd rather just have me posting images. (or combo).

In other news...my foldio 2 arrived! Look for a review next week! (It's gigantic!)
Awww yeah! No hurt feet!
The game room also received an upgrade! I got some interlocking cushion floor mats, so we don't end up with achy feet after a long session of playing. (next game day is saturday!). It was pretty cheap too! As an added bonus, the cushion will protect any mini's that might fall off the table, instead of impacting the hardwood!
