Welcome back everyone! Going to be an exciting post today...I finished a squad! (well mostly finished, I forgot about the ork guy). I also got primer on all the things to paint, to bring the new dreads up to snuff with the existing army. I originally was going to spray on Wednesday, but held back due to how thin the vallejo primer was. Zab recommended I try badger, but that wouldn't get here till Thursday! So since I had some time to kill, I started playing the witcher 3. After 60 or so hours of time was eaten, I realized I had to do something for the blog, and quickly painted up the gretchin and their bases last night during the FLG hobby twitch time! The badger primer comes in a three pack, so I'll be using it's grey and white to do my preshading on the dreads, to give them the same base as the existing army. My plan is to try and get everyone mostly matching, then bring them up in quality as a group. That way they'll be ready for nova quickly, and I can continuously work on them as time permits. This model is just brutal looking. I had to snap a shot of it, even though its hard to make out a lot of the detail. I'm moving the mega/meka dreads to MC bases, as I felt the knight bases were handicapping them a bit (they don't have a normal base), so leaving the knight bases for the gork/mork. So this is squad 1 of 2 in my troops selection of the force. Finally got these fellas on proper bases (minus the edges which I have to clean up). They turned out really good. They are just painted with my "Wash" style, which is basically just lots of layers of washes applied repeatedly. Some mould lines here and there...but my scraper and knife isn't big enough to get into all their nooks and cranies! I know these fellas are only supposed to be toughness 2...but some of these little guys are ripped! I think they'd tear a guardsman to shreds! Bit of a lazier update this week, but if any of you are playing Witcher 3, you'll completely understand. Thanks for stopping by and commenting as always, brings all the orky happiness! Have a great one guys!
