I just have to figure out exactly how I'm going to mount him on a base. I have a few ideas.
Hey everyone! Welcome back. This week was a pretty hobby filled week. Got some work done on my renegade knights, fully cleaned up the deff dread, magnetized, and pinned him all up, and most of the pipes in my house were replaced! Lets get started! As a reminder, the deff dread is for nova open charity. Check it out! He is still missing his main shoulder pauldrons (or whatever they are called), but he is cleaned up and ready for paint. I tried to do a super man pose, as he is just taking off, and I'd imagine the mek/boy inside is quite proud of himself at having the only "flying" deff dread. I also had a funny idea (no idea if I will implement it) at having a grot holding a remote control on the base, with a very very very short cable. I just have to figure out exactly how I'm going to mount him on a base. I have a few ideas. His legs are horribly stubby. Massively exaggerated by the huge jet pack on his back. I think I am going to have to build a base to get him to have the proper pose, as the secret weapon base (though awesome), just isn't cutting it for making him look proper cool. I need to get him posed up before I start spraying, so hopefully I'll figure this out soon. I am hoping with some broken up bricks, paste, and maybe a wall from the terrain in the renegade knight box, I can create something that lets me reinforce one of his legs enough to hold his entire bulk (while hiding the rod in the terrain). I also need to do something about the gaping holes in the back of the jet pack. I thought of taking a load of greenstuff between them, then covering that green stuff with cables (either metal ones, or green stuff cables). We'll see if I can do it! I also started on the renegade knights (ork knights). Nova finally responded, and I'm allowed to run them in the narrative. So my new narrative list is basically the dread mob and two renegade knights. Only two infantry models in the entire army. I actually have their torso's built up as well, but forgot to take a photo. I'm also making sure I cut off any goodie two shoes symbols and replace them with propa ork ones. I might cut up the back a bit more and try to have a grot look like he's banging a hammer on the engine. On a non hobby front, the pipes in my house are still being worked on, but many have been replaced! Hurray! The plumber does some amazing work. So pretty! But I promised you guys more weathering shots. And boy have I got some good ones! Reference material up the wazzo! First off...it's my orks in real life! Some more Greg pipes! A pile of rust and metallic flakes from water dripping on the old water heater! And finally, some of the best verdigris on a pipe I have ever seen. (not mine, found at work!). That is it for this week guys! Hope to have painted models to show you next week! (fingers crossed!). Have a wonderful hobby time!
