Hondas Blog: How 40K Smart Are You?

When it comes to 40K, there's different kinds of smarts, right?

For instance, there are people who figure out how to work list, almost with Machiavellian skill, then there are those who can look at a handful of spare bits from ten different kits and create a masterpiece.

And then there are people who aren't like that at all <raises hand>. I would consider myself rather pragmatic, a kind of "out of the box" thinker in day-to-day endeavors, but I'd like to think that I have a healthy dose of common sense. When I see a set of circumstances, I think more times than not, I will quickly evaluate the situation and then come to the conclusion that "that ain't right" (Texas technical phrase).

So what kind of person are you? Do you have the ability to evaluate a set of 40K circumstances and make the right decision?

Let's proceed shall we?
1. The ugliest creature you've ever seen, which unsurprisingly has the word "Venom" in its name, drifts across the street towards your home. Do you:

A. Walk up to check it out because looks can be deceiving and it might be friendly.
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

2. A weird portal looking thing opens up over your city. Do you:

A. Go check it out because how bad could Commoragh possibly be?
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

3. A large sweet smelling fellow, armored in black and pink, asks "Are you experienced?" Do you:

A. Reply, "Sure, I look young, but I've experienced a lot of things!"
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

4. Your neighbors begin running away from the end of the street screaming, "The Flayers are here!". Do you:

A. Go find where they are playing because that's your favorite kind of music.
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

5. A monstrously large figure smelling of sulfur and dried blood, bellows "Blood for the Blood God!" so loud that all the windows in your neighbor's homes shatter. Do you:
A. Think to yourself, "When was the last time I donated blood at the Medicae station?"
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

6. One of your neighbors invites you to a "Four Armed Emperor" house meeting tonight. Do you:

A. Laugh and say, "Silly fellow, the Emperor only has two arms. Let me come by and help explain."
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

7. You are approached by a large fellow whose dark green armor is mostly covered in robes. He  shows you a picture of black armored person with a sword strapped to his back and asks if you've ever seen him. Do you:

A. Reply, "Well, sure, he stopped by my house asking for directions to another gentleman like himself".
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

8. A rather thin looking stranger with bluish colored skin. wearing robes, and accompanied by a flying trash can lid, comes to your door and asks if you'd be interested in hearing about the Greater Good. Do you:

A. Invite him in and say, "If this is about making things better, I'm all for it!"
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

9. A large horde of green skinned hooligans screams something like "AAAAAAAH!" and begin running en masse toward where you are standing. Do you:

A. Slowly walk towards them with arms out, empty handed, so you can discuss this misunderstanding.
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

10. A member of the Inquisition asks you to sit down and play "the shell game" with him. Do you:

A. Reply, "Sure, I love games. What should we play for?"
B. Run away and hide.
C. Pick up the nearest blunt object, accepting that you have probably ensured your own demise.

Now, if we were "in-universe", if you answered "A" to any of the questions, the Inquisition would seek you out and, um, "explain" your shortcomings. Also, if any of you choose "B" to any of the questions, you'd find out that the Imperium doesn't suffer cowards at all and could expect a visit from a local Commissar.

So the only correct answer in each case, was "C", which would more than likely get you inducted into the Imperial Guard.

Who says the Imperium lacks choices?

I think that's if for now, other than to say with the modeling of the Children of the Dragon pretty much finished except for an odd cultist squad or so, I need to start on something else.

Hobby-wise, I'm just wired that way.

So, I think this is what I'm going to be doing.
Picture
<reader scratches head>" Um...what is that supposed to be about?"

I guess you'll have to come back and find out. <smiles>

Also, my daughter is graduating from college next week, so I will not have anything to post next Monday.

Cheers,
