Hey Guys! It's been an incredibly busy week for me. I've been in massive production mode, as I've got a BBQ Tournament on Saturday!
It follows the nova open rules (GT), so I've been scrambling like mad to get a presentable army for it. As such, I don't have all the videos and nice photos setup as yet. Instead I have a stream of consciousness photo extravaganza for you all to check out! If you follow me @3dgreg on twitter, you've probably seen a few of these already!
These bases get better an better!
First off, Jeff @ dragonforge got the bases to me just in the nick of time! They are absolutely gorgeous, and I immediately started painting them. (after washing them, as per all resins)
I took the time to get some zen highlights on the other two dreads and also their first layer of brown (not pictured).
I did a little quick tutorial on rapid rust for Scott on twitter!
Took 10 minutes, including the time to find the mini, setup the brushes, get a hair dryer, setup the paints, take the photos, and post on twitter. Basically it is just lead belcher, then typhus corrosion, then ryza rust. That's it. Add effects as needed. But you can make it REALLY fast.
I started working on the other colors for the gretching and ork characters. This is just some lamenters yellow applied in multiple coats. No paint used yet, just washes and glazes. (and the primer layer of course). I'm pretty happy with the gritty and sooty look of the yellows. Makes great sense for a bunch of ork warbikers!
I had such a treat with the warboss. I went to pin the bike to the base, screwed up, and it make an AWESOME wheelie. He just looks SO friggin bad ass on the bike. I'm so happy!
Last but not least, here are some photos of rust I recently snapped. Found some nice yellow painted bits all rusting. Perfect for bad moons inspiration!
