It's finally friday. Sometimes weeks just drag...especially when you are waiting for your first codex release in 6 years. Supposedly it's a mixed bag...I hear my killa kans are going to be crying. We shall see! In the meantime, I threw some paint on my ork trukk's, did a layer on some Templars for ETL, and played some Xenonauts!

This is pretty much a super thin layer of ivanden darksun over a 50/50 boltgun chaos black base coat. It needs a good coat or two more before I can start actually working on washes, highlights, etc.

I've had these trukk's for a few years. I generally use them to throw troops at my opponent, which means they never spend more then a turn on the table. I've never really felt like painting them because of that. Well that changes now! Gotta distract with pretty colors!
My main plan for the trukk's is to do some yellow layers, wash with devlan mud, hit with some bright yellow highlights, then weather the heck out of them. They're going to be my new test bed for weathering powders/techniques before I work on the mega dread and gorkanaut!

I also worked a bit on my templar models. I mainly did the tabards and purity seals. This particular model is the terminator chaplain, which is an absolutely amazing model that is just covered with details. I really wish they had given chaplains a bit better rules...I will probably end up playing him as a counts as inquisitor (which is really points effective by comparison).
The base here is Zandri dust. I'll do two light coats, followed by a light screaming skull dry brush, then a wash. (Followed by another dry brush of screaming skull). Depending on the seal, I'll attempt to write some script on it...but I'm horrible at that. We shall see!
Topic wise, I'm a bit all over the place today. I apologize for that. I've been spending a lot of time reorganizing and prepping, so my blog posts are a bit rushed. I may need to adjust my days to spread them out a bit more.

If you loved the original xcom, you'll have a blast playing this game. It brings back fond memories of X-COM. The research, the tactical screen, the squadmates shooting each other in the back accidentally. What a great time!

Of all the video gaming characters I've enjoyed playing in my life, my absolute favorite is Samus from metroid. Those games (2D sidescrolling) are some of my all time favorites. I ran into this figure on a random 40k blog, and just had to get my own. It's a lovely figure, and extremely posable.

Bit of a short one this Friday. Prepping for a 40k game on Saturday. There won't be a battle report, as we haven't had much time to play with 7th edition first. Gotta figure out the new missions before I double the time by taking photos! Have a good one everyone!
