It's finally warm in Maryland! Prime everything! Bring out the spray paint! Then suddenly realize that building terrain drink paint like no others. Out of primer and paint now. Sad days indeed for a plastic pusher of minis!
At least I was able to get 4 of the 6 buildings spray painted. I didn't use primer for this (hope it doesn't bite me in the butt later), but cans of krylon fusion matte black.
You can see the two giant ones in the backround ready for their coats...once I get another can.

Got some more dragonforge bases ready as well. These are for my Black Templars (namely the HQ and scouts), and will be painted to match the ancient ruin bases I already use.
I've been asked why I don't just base my own miniatures, and purchase resin bases instead. My reasons are two fold.
My basing skills aren't the best. (but getting better). The resin bases are solid. They have a bit of heft to them that helps hold the models in place without using coins or weights.

Frontline Gaming Mat Review
Speaking of the gaming mat. We played a 2v2 game this past weekend. BT and Necrons vs Daemons and Dark Eldar. (We roll to see who is on what team). I played an elite army (landraider, ironclads, and terminators) which left me with almost no models on the table at 1k points.
In the end, thanks to Macathu's excellent tactical positioning and some poor luck on the Daemon players part (failed mindshackle 3 times in a row on the daemon prince), we pulled a win.
The more important part about this post however, is the pictured ironclad. He slew the lord of change, and a daemon walker in the battle, taking no damage in return. MVP.
I started looking through my battle reports, and noticed this model has been spectacular. So he's getting some bling and a name. He is now Sariel Foe-Hammer. He has killed...

Last but not least! I did paint something this week. An old metal necron lord for Macathu. He's going to use these guys as stand in crypteks for his immortal squads.
I decided to paint these in a very different scheme then the other models since...
1) They are not supposed to be lords.
2) They are going to be in groups of models.
So unlike the other necrons, their top shoulders are bronze instead of purple, and the purple is featured further down on the model (in the cloak).

This should make them easy to pick out on the battle field, and help when positioning them to do that nasty AP1 template of 2+ death.
