Welcome my friends. Small but intense update this week. I finalized the scheme of the death guard, and painted another two models. First up, the death guard!
Pretty happy with how they look. They aren't display quality, but they look awesome for the tabletop. The weathering really brought the shoulder pads down, and they look a bit grittier then the photos. (even more so, since this was pre matte varnish). There is also only a few sections which require brush control, the majority of the paint scheme is very loose, which is right down my alley!
I haven't sorted the bases yet, but I think I'm going to go with a red/orange mars style terrain. Will be working on that soon. Originally I was going to use some of my resin bases, but I want to transport these in the tablewar case, so probably going to put some washers on their bases and magnetize the metal bit of the tablewar.
Even though I generally run these in groups of 7, I decided to do them in squads of 10, just in case I change my mind later, so everything works together. The first squad has double green pads, the second one green, one white. Four, opposite green and white (left pad white instead of right pad). One will have silver trim instead of the bronze. The champions are not pictured here, as they will be using the FW torso, pad and head, so they will be assembled once those come in. (I figure I will do all the champions at once).

I have been looking for something like this for quite some time. A folding 6x4 table. Prior to this, I was using 2x 2.5x6 tables, which makes for a rather massive footprint in the room. The gap between the tables was so big, I had to use another piece on top of that to make it smooth, so i could lay down the mat. It was quite the assembly, and required a lot of space to break down (giant board, two large tables), making it hard to revert from gaming space to living room. I had been researching online about a portable 6x4 table, but most were extremely flimsy. I wanted something that could support the occasional lean. So I am trying out the alpha table
So far I quite like it. I wish the legs were a bit taller (about 3-4 inches), and it really needs some sort of lock in place mechanism for the folding bits. (it likes to fold in on itself if you try to flip it over with one person. Two people its fine.). I will reserve having a full review until I have had a chance to play some games on the surface! Right now though, myself and Sarah are pretty chuffed, since it breaks down WAY easier then my previous setup, and will tuck away in the back nicely.
