Welcome my friends. Nova is rapidly approaching (it's just next week!), and all the grots and meks have been hard at work in the Greggles household. As I get closer to the end, these posts explode with models, as I'm not really posting all the sweat, beer, and tears wip's that went into them! First up, the new improved Zhardsnark Biker Boss! For anyone that saw the bikers before, they really weren't done. It was just a quick zenithal metallic, and some green on the ork skin. That's it. So almost had to paint them from scratch. Sticking with the new and improved scheme. Metallics are generally dark, with extremely bright highlights (helps make them seem darker then they are), with the same yellow as the dreads on the armor plates to break things up. You can see more and more checks popping up here and there :) Next up is the KFF Big mek on a bike! The skin on these three guys is very closer to the boyz, but not as vibrant as I didn't want to repaint the orks from scratch, just enhance them. (running out of time here!). I also noticed the dirty bases AFTER the photos. Oops! The KFF isn't integrated to much into the bike, as it is removable (in case I want to run him as something other then a big mek!). Another KFF Big Mek, minus the KFF which is still waiting to be painted (it attaches to his back). This one was a bit difficult to snap photos of, as he's driving up a rock, so the perspective of the camera mount is a bit odd. I didn't feel like retaking the photos. You'll see plenty of him at Nova! Mad doc took me an enormous amount of time to paint. First its a fine cast, so not much you can do about some of the sculpt, second most of the mechanical bits are integrated into his skin. It's really really cool, but also really fiddly with trying to be super careful when painting! I think he came out pretty awesome, if a bit scratchy...but I figured he is supposed to be utterly mad, so is probably constantly doing really stupid things. I'm pretty happy with his skin and where it intersects some of the metal. Did a lot of multi-colored glazing to make it look like not all of his skin was happy about the process! Another nob for the final boyz squad. (Also not photo'd, 2 more choppa boyz, and 3 riders for the buggies). Last but not least. The big lobba and some grot gunners/oilers. The grots are following the pattern of my previous grots, which is why their skin is much more pale. It's only a single lighter wash of green, vs getting the yellow/green combo. It's easy to see the drastic difference in vibrance just that extra coat of yellow gives! Whats left? All the big stuff! Doing the yellow paint/chipping on the buggies and battlewagon this weekend (other one is almost done, just forgot to snag a photo), and adding metallics to the two mega dreads, then doing a once over on allllllll the dreads. There will probably be a nice hobby vacation after nova this year! Thanks for stopping by everyone!
